5 WING GOOSE BAY
Soldiers from 37 Canadian Brigade Group, during Exercise NORTHERN SOJOURN, had conducted a long-range snowmobile patrol between 5 Wing and Postville. During this patrol blank ammunition with rifle magazines, smoke canisters and safety flares were carried for training and safety purposes.
On completion of the patrol it was noticed that some of this ordnance was unaccounted for on return to 5 Wing.
If blank ammunition, rifle magazines, smoke canisters or signal flares are found on snowmobile trails between 5 Wing and Postville, please contact Captain Dave Bowen at 5 Wing Public Affairs or the RCMP.
For your safety please do not pick up or retain any of this ordnance as souvenirs.
This is very important training that is designed to develop our soldiers’ skills in Arctic and winter operations. We appreciate your support and understanding.
